In all our offices, we have appointed ‘Green Champions’: individuals tasked with finding ways to reduce waste and limit our burden on the environment. We have also implemented an online timesheet and payslip system for our business and clients that saves around 677,976 sheets or paper a year, equating to 5,831kg of CO2. and 82 trees
ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard
Carlisle belongs to Impellam Group’s ISO 4001 accredited Environmental Management System. Our fully automated processes minimise paper use, and we always recycle appropriate materials, including paper, print cartridges, cardboard, plastic bottles, tin and newspapers.
Green fleet
At Carlisle, we have reduced our CO2 emissions by adopting a green fleet of environmentally friendly vehicles, which meet Euro4 environmental standards. Additionally, many Carlisle employees travel to destinations using public transport.
Paperless processes
We have replaced paper-based activities with automated electronic processes. Our statistics since 2006 show that we have helped our clients and their suppliers save more than 2.8 million A4 sheets of paper.
Carbon footprint management
To help our clients achieve their sustainability targets, we have pioneered a workforce carbon footprint management process. The process involves capturing data on staff travel, including expenses, methods and locations. We then use our e-volution recruitment system to promote such initiatives as car share and bike schemes, public transport subsidies, and methods for attracting local candidates. The process also measures the workforce’s carbon footprint and demonstrates how the chosen initiative has reduced emissions in line with targets.
